At Peace this fall, we will have a new science curriculum. One of the first units, will be a plant unit. So I was looking for something that related to plant life. It also ties in with ecosystems. It shows the sand dunes around Lake Michigan. There is a scienctist that shares what the ecosystem is like and what type of structures grow well there.
The unique thing is that this video also has teacher's notes. While this is video is tied to an Ohio standard, it can be used almost anywhere. It takes place on the shore of Lake Michigan so it is relavant because my students know and understand Lake Michigan as being an important part of Wisconsin's history, agriculture, and industry.
If you watch the teacher notes, you will see that the video is one part of a larger lesson plan. If you use the lesson plans as stated, it is directed for a 5th grade classroom. I will be using the video itself as a audio/visual for my 3rd & 4th grade classroom.
